I heart Aztec

There is no hiding that I absolutely love ethnical influences in interiors. At White Punch our collection is diverse, aiming to mix both Nordic and Exotic elements. Now that Autumn is drawing in, I'm on the lookout to add some texture to our home. To achieve this, I often bring more bold pattern into interiors, to add warmth and interest. I am absolutely head over heels in love with Aztec. The  traditional Latin American designs, full of compelling geometric patterns, will add intrigue and a wow factor to your home. You can decide how big or small you want the wow to be. Go for lots of strong and vibrant colours for a bold approach, or use softer shades of white, greys and black for a more subtle look. Either how it will for sure make a statement and add interest to your interiors.

Aztec rugs in authentic warm kilim colours, hang one on the wall as a beautiful piece of artwork.

This would look so great as a bedspread, don't you think?

Love the idea of layering and covering the sofa with some funky Aztec print. Crazy statement for your home and easy to change it back. The image above is borrowed from Design Sponge who featured interior stylist, art director and prop wardrobe stylist Paige Morse’s home. About the striking sofa she says: “This is one of the most talked about pieces in my home when people visit. It is a small settee made from vintage kilim rugs. The details are insane. Can you see all those little tassels at the bottom? The throw was brought back from my travels in Mexico and the pillows are made from vintage wedding cloths from India. I love every little detail about this corner of the room.”
I am totally weak at the knees at the global living vibe and story behind this piece.

This feature wall would really add some interest to any home. I can absolutely see this working well in a typical minimal Scandinavian looking home. The black and white pattern is just so versatile.

If you just want to add some subtle changes to your home, then soft furnishing is your friend. An Aztec throw or some cushions, like these lovely coral Tine K cushions will take you on the way to the global living look and also add the all important texture and interest to your cosy autumn-winter home. These large Aztec cushions above are now on sale at the moment and are £35 for the square one and £30 for the rectangular and you can find them in the shop.

Would you like to add some Aztec to your home?

In the meantime, take care.

Pocket String Sale!

Hi there, long time no see.... Blog has been a bit of a stand still over the past few months, but I am ready to change that. Feeling in the groove to start blogging again.

It is mid October and we at White Punch have an offer for you:) From yesterday we have 20% off on the Swedish design classic String Pockets. Now you can get one of these wonderfully versatile shelving units for a snippet at £86 :) We put a white one up in my youngest daughter bedroom and thinking of putting up the Raw String Pocket somewhere downstairs as I just love the raw material used in that style. They are just so practical and stylish and can hold all your favourite things. Earlier I showed some pretty cool String Pocket pictures that were styled by one of my favorite stylist Lotta Agaton. Have a look and get inspired.

Till next time, take care.

Pancake Day!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
It is Shrove Tuesday here in the UK today, which means P A N C A K E  D A Y ! Highlight of the year in this house, even though we have pancakes throughout the year. It is one of the simple pleasures in life, pancakes. The smiles on the kids face when they can smell pancakes from the kitchen is priceless. Here is an easy Pancake recipe for you to  try.

If you would like a slightly sweet pancake add some sugar and vanilla essence.

Simply mix the dry ingredients, add the wet and mix.
Let it stand to rest for about 20 min.
Heat up a frying pan add some butter before each pancake and cook as thin pancakes as you can.

Serve with what you desire.
In this house it is either blueberry jam or lemon and sugar.

Simple Life at a Stocholm apartment.

Its Monday, its spring and we are planning to make life a bit simple this week. Have a lot to do, many ideas in my head, therefor it is important not to complicate things. I think if you live in an apartment like this one in Stockholm, photographed by the lovely and talented Line Klein, it would help you on the way of keeping things simple.

Keep it simple in a white home, just add a few accessories in wood and black.  Here are a couple of suggestions from House Doctor that you can find in the White Punch Shop

Till next time, take care.

1st of March. Yes!

After a stormy rainy winter here in the UK, it is lovely to wake up this Saturday morning and noticing on our big wall clock in the kitchen that it is the 1st of March! I love all the different seasons and in spring it is natural to look for lighter days and lighter colours in your home. These beautiful pendants from Northern Lighting caught my eye this morning while browsing Pinterest. The Bell series, which is designed by Mark Braun, consists of shiny porcelain pendant lights and celebrates porcelain as a substance and showcases its glossy and glazed qualities. I really like the simple design and how the coloured outer surface contrast the pure white porcelain on the inside. Perfect for spring I think.

Till next time, take care.
