I heart Aztec

There is no hiding that I absolutely love ethnical influences in interiors. At White Punch our collection is diverse, aiming to mix both Nordic and Exotic elements. Now that Autumn is drawing in, I'm on the lookout to add some texture to our home. To achieve this, I often bring more bold pattern into interiors, to add warmth and interest. I am absolutely head over heels in love with Aztec. The  traditional Latin American designs, full of compelling geometric patterns, will add intrigue and a wow factor to your home. You can decide how big or small you want the wow to be. Go for lots of strong and vibrant colours for a bold approach, or use softer shades of white, greys and black for a more subtle look. Either how it will for sure make a statement and add interest to your interiors.

Aztec rugs in authentic warm kilim colours, hang one on the wall as a beautiful piece of artwork.

This would look so great as a bedspread, don't you think?

Love the idea of layering and covering the sofa with some funky Aztec print. Crazy statement for your home and easy to change it back. The image above is borrowed from Design Sponge who featured interior stylist, art director and prop wardrobe stylist Paige Morse’s home. About the striking sofa she says: “This is one of the most talked about pieces in my home when people visit. It is a small settee made from vintage kilim rugs. The details are insane. Can you see all those little tassels at the bottom? The throw was brought back from my travels in Mexico and the pillows are made from vintage wedding cloths from India. I love every little detail about this corner of the room.”
I am totally weak at the knees at the global living vibe and story behind this piece.

This feature wall would really add some interest to any home. I can absolutely see this working well in a typical minimal Scandinavian looking home. The black and white pattern is just so versatile.

If you just want to add some subtle changes to your home, then soft furnishing is your friend. An Aztec throw or some cushions, like these lovely coral Tine K cushions will take you on the way to the global living look and also add the all important texture and interest to your cosy autumn-winter home. These large Aztec cushions above are now on sale at the moment and are £35 for the square one and £30 for the rectangular and you can find them in the shop.

Would you like to add some Aztec to your home?

In the meantime, take care.

Ready for autumn.

And just like that, September is here! My picks for September from White Punch have a real autumn feel. I love change in seasons, any seasons, but autumn, I think, is my favourite. After the best summer in a decade, I am now quite ready for darker nights, leaves falling, cooler air, roaring fires, hearty stews and lots and lots of candles. Here are some autumn inspiration pictures and my picks from the shop.

Finally the long awaited summer is here for real in the UK. Hurray! We had a mini heat wave here last weekend and are expecting another one in the next few days. The kids have broken up from school and we are enjoying every moment as we never know how long this beautiful spell will last. Here are my picks from White Punch that I think are very suited for the month of July:)

*Straw Basket with leather handles from Tine K Home is the ultimate summer accessory. It is very spacious and has room for everything you need for the beach, picnics, friends BBQ or any other fun filled summer activity:) Can also be used as a storage bag around the house. *Showcase some beautiful summer flowers in one of these Vases from House Doctor DK. *We love these Fringed Towel Ponchos from Tine K Home. *July is the time for entertaining, so why not serve up some delicious summer dishes on this beautiful Marble Serving Board from HK Living.

Coral

For spring this year there is one colour that I have absolutely fallen head over heels in love with and that is the divine colour of Coral! From its dusty pink to its more burned orange shade, it makes this colour so versatile and would really add a little pizzazz to my usual pallet of white, grey and black. It has a certain energy, which is very welcome after a cold and grey UK winter and I can absolutely see it entering both my wardrobe and my home this spring. The Danish designer Tine K, which my shop will stock, has incorporated coral to perfection into their Spring Summer Collection as you can see from some of the pictures below.
